My submission for the Fa-fa-fashion Show over at
The theme was "Tigre Punks" which means throw on all the belts, zippers, and hardware you can onto an outfit. xD
Head-to-toe checklist:
- crazy random up-do
- blue rose hairpin
- screwdriver & wrench 'hair sticks'
- birdhouse earring
- safety pin necklace
- 50% biker/ 50% millitary short, red plaid jacket (w/ silk rose pattern lining, and pins glued to bottlecaps ;D )
- black & white CAUTION tape color-block mini dress w/ CAUTION tape garterbelt
- ribbed black zipper stockings & black platform pumps
- blue sapphire ring, CAUTION tape bangle

Its really hard to describe what punk is or isn't; I mean, there are all the basic staples (torn white shirt, plaid pants, leather studded accessories, etc), but part of the thing with punk is that the basic rule is that there really are no rules. There can't be any rules; because, that is entirely against what punk kind of stands for.
ANYWAYS, punk represents (in my opinion) anti-structure, anti-government, anti-fashion (against popular trends and society's ideals). Everything that is kind of accepted in our world, they want to tear down all of those barriers of restraint, social nuances, order... and well, make a huge fucking mess of things. Punk is very complicated, very violent, and a complete statement.
For Alice's ensemble, I wanted to keep it very feminine, very her, because I still wanted it to seem like something she would wear. I also wanted to play with different patterns and saturated colors. It was really hard not to make it too matchy-matchy. I kept wanting to throw blue roses (her favorite) everywhere: in her hair, as a big fluffy pin on her jacket, on her shoes, etc. BUT I RESTRAINED MYSELF. xD I could have given her sneakers, or super strappy platform boot or heel, or doc martens (or even the wingtip boots she normally wears) or something, but I gave her black stockings with matching pumps instead. It was really hard to decide between something like blue docs or the pumps, but I went with the pump... The docs seemed more obvious to me even though are a more bold look. The pump makes her legs look longer, and she's such a priss about looking taller.

My gosh, my goodness gracious, googley moogley. The outsift just screams Tiger Punk,haha. I love the dress she's sporting and the way you described everything of what she was wearing and what it all meant. Look at that strut down the walkway. She looks /fabulous/. ;>
